Products Description
Dodecenylsuccinic Anhydride, abbreviated as (DDSA), is a mixture of isomers. It is mainly used as a curing agent for epoxy resins and solvent-based adhesives. It can also be mixed with other acid anhydrides to obtain a more superior cured product.
Mixture of branched isomeric anhydrides, pale yellow transparent liquid. Moderate viscosity, excellent compatibility with epoxy resin, low curing exotherm and good toughness of cured product. Great oil solubility with outstanding anti-rust & corrosion inhibition. The anhydride group is easy to undergo ring-opening esterification and amidation reaction.

FAQ
Q: Are these two CAS numbers for the same product?
A: Both are commonly known as dodecanedioic anhydride (DDSA), and they belong to different isomers.
Q: What is the difference between branched DDSA (26544-38-7) and linear DDSA (25377-73-5)?
A: CAS 26544-38-7: branched structure, lower cost, widely used in lubricant rust inhibitor and general epoxy curing. CAS 25377-73-5: linear structure, higher purity, mainly used for lab embedding and high-performance epoxy formula.
Q: Could they replace each other in formulation?
A: Not fully interchangeable. The molecular structure affects viscosity, curing speed and anti-rust performance. Lab test is required before substitution.
Q: What are Grade A and Grade B of DDSA?
A: They differ in kinematic viscosity. Grade A:50-60 mm²/s; Grade B:80-90 mm²/s. Choose grade according to your formula requirements.
Q: Why should avoid contact with water during use and storage?
A: It is acid anhydride. It will hydrolyze when meets water, generate carboxylic acid and reduce product performance.
