PCDL is a polymer with repeating carbonate groups in its molecular backbone and hydroxyl groups at the chain ends. It possesses the performance advantages of both polyester polyols and polyether polyols, making it a highly versatile polyol product with excellent comprehensive properties.

 

It can be used to prepare various high-end polyurethane materials.Compared with traditional polyurethane materials, polycarbonate-type polyurethane has outstanding mechanical properties, hydrolytic resistance, solvent resistance, and oxidation resistance, and is known as the "polyhedral warrior". It is widely applied in fields such as leather, elastomers, coatings, and adhesives.

FAQ

 

Q: What are the advantages of PCDL compared to ordinary polyester polyols?

A: It has better resistance to hydrolysis, UV aging and wear resistance, and the prepared polyurethane products have a longer service life.

Q: Why is moisture strictly controlled in PCDL storage?

A: In the hydroxyl and isocyanate reaction system, water will consume the isocyanate, causing abnormal foaming and cross-linking. Therefore, it must be stored in a moisture-proof, sealed and nitrogen-filled environment.

Q: What are the differences in performance among different molecular weights of PCDL (500/1000/2000)?

A: The lower the molecular weight, the lower the viscosity; as the molecular weight increases, the hardness and toughness of the polyurethane product will change, and they cannot be directly interchanged. A new formulation needs to be adjusted.

Q: Can PCDL be directly solidified into materials by itself?

A: No. It is a type of polyol raw material and requires a reaction with isocyanate to synthesize polyurethane elastomers or coatings.

Q: What does the hydroxyl value indicator represent?

A: It reflects the content of hydroxyl groups and directly determines the ratio of the ingredients with isocyanate. It is the most crucial indicator in the formula.
